Working for Canada!

Another exciting thing that is happening is the GO MEDIA event in Whistler, BC., this september 20th for 4 days. Basically it is a media event to showcase Canada and all it has to offer. I have been contracted to cover the event from start to finish, I am excited as all the media that is coming are potential clients. Well everyone is a potential client but in this case all the guest's on the invite list are in my industry as they almost all are in publishing media or reporting media. Not too often do photographers are hired to document an event with this many potential contacts, and with the 2010 Winter Games approaching fast this will be great for me and Whistler.

ESPN upgrade

I thought it was exciting my ESPN blog entry was bumped up to run on the main banner ESPN Freeskier page. I was happy to see that my images made the people at ESPN Freeskier happy! I recived many complments on the shout out that Tim Mutrie at ESPN gave me and traffic to my website increesed almost 300% in the last week alone. I heard about the power of Blogging and not that I see the results first hand I am sold and love this type of marketing.

New Work!

I have worked with my friend Andrew Doran on a few projects in the past with great success! So that is why we decided to work together on a new exciting project to collaborate and showcase all the talented people in and around Whistler that we both work with.
We are calling the new venture Whistler Talent. We have begun marketing hundreds of talented creative and skilled people that both of us have worked with over the combined 30 years of experience Andrew and I have working in the photography industry.
We have provided talent to some of the larger productions in Whistler, mainly on the still productions but look forward to bringing our talents and those we represent to the Film industry or well to all industries that require our talent base.
Please feel free to contact us directly Andrew Doran and I ( Rich Glass) or feel free to browse the Whistler Talent website. Keep in mind that our services extend past what we have listed, if you have a need for any type of Talent in or around Whistler, we have what you need and more.

ESPN blog!

Yea summer shooting!
My shoot up on the Blackcomb Glacier with Momentum Ski Camp last month is being featured on the ESPN website, I am stoked to see the images run so fast! Usually I have to wait for months to see my ski images used anywhere with the nature of the ski industry. Thats why its cool to see ESPN using my work in their Freesking blog section on their website.
I am also stoked that Peter Olenick said that one of my shots from this shoot was the best photo he has had taken of him ever! That was real nice to hear.. he might have been drunk but I doubt it!
It is mountain bike time in Whistler! Well it is always bike time in Whistler but right now it is Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival! Super cool event! And we are the best place in the world for mountain biking so why not have a 10 day festival! I have been pretty busy with the bikini project to shoot as much of the events as I would like but I did shoot the dual slalom and got some results I was happy with. I had yet to get my media pass so I had to shoot from the public areas so I tried some different things and came away stoked I took the time away from my other responsibilities.

Catching Up!

So I have been trying to get back to you for the last little bit, however I was surprised to see that it has almost been a year. WOW!
It has been an exciting year and now half way through July 09' things just look better and brighter.
This winter was very productive and fun! I made some new friends and worked on some cool projects and stayed real busy so much so I couldn't write about it..hahaha!
I have just updated my website Rich Glass Photography . I updated my portfolio and added a few new pages in the events section. Have a look there might be something you like, as all my images are available as any size print you might need!!!
I have a super cool project on the go right now, its a bikini calendar based around Whistler activities, I am working with Whistler Exposed  who is producing a variety of products using my images. I will keep you all posted.
I just completed a sunset photo shoot on the Blackcomb Glacier with Momentum Ski Camps :: Freeride and Mogul skiing camps in Whistler, BC, Canada . We got some good work done with their coaches, the sunset could have been a bit more dramatic but regardless I was happy with the results. Head Coach Trennon Paynter threw down these laid out stylish back flips, I posted on on here but check out my site to see the full collection!
Time to get back to my day! Thinking about camping and shooting some star trails!
See you out there!

Daniel and Richelle's wedding!

This past Saturday August 2nd 2008 I had the pleasure of witnessing and photographing my good friends tying the knot!
The wedding was a huge success by my standards and the images that I created were all that I expected. I have published them to a photo sales site where you can view and order images. The wedding photos!
I shot for most of the speeches and through the dancing so I can't really re-call all that happened, I only remember that I enjoyed myself!

Pemby Fest

Well its a week or two past due but here is a bit on a blog on the best thing that has happened to Pemberton BC .. well since.. hmm.. heli-skiing on Mount Currie..
The world converged on the Pemberton Music Festival! Te headlining groups were Coldplay, Tom Petty, NIN and Jay-Z, also appearing were Wolfmother, The Flaming Lips and The Hip. It was a 3 day event that I and many friends camped out for. It was dusty but tons of fun!
Memories to last a lifetime!
And seeing that it was just the first year of this event it will only get better! I hope!

My media pass fell through at the last minute so I did my best in making it fun for me even though I was loosing money. My old friend Jenny B made the trek from Edmonton, AB and she had never seen something like this kinda festival before.. she was blow away!
